On June 22nd, the Surgical Interest Group of Aieti (SIGA) at David Tvildiani Medical University held its fifth workshop, which consisted of two components – theoretical and practical. The workshop lasted for 4 hours and had 36 participants. The first lecture consisted of topics concerning “Essential tips for residency interviews” and “Surgical basics – Knotting/Suturing”. Lectures were led by the president of SIGA, Avtandil Kochiashvili. After lectures, students were divided into separate groups, underwent sequential practical training in surgical suturing, surgical knotting and residency interviewing, led by DTMU students. Each participant was provided with all the necessary surgical equipment for suturing and special ropes for knotting. They were able to practice suturing on rubber suturing tissue.
