On 7th of February an educational event regarding measles and measles vaccination was held at Rustavi campus of David Tvildiani Medical University. The event was organized by Association of Immunization and Vaccinology (AIVA). At the meeting, the president of association, DTMU student Tamar Ratishvili discussed current measles outbreak in Georgia, complications of measles and measles prevention with the students. The importance and effectiveness of vaccination against measles were underscored. The lecture also covered the recommendations for vaccination in current epidemiologic situation and the importance of herd immunity against measles. After the lecture, students participated in interactive quiz about general concepts of vaccinology and particular vaccine-preventable diseases. The questions were split into easy and hard ones. Representatives of AIVA, DTMU students - Alexandre Asatiani, Ketevan Gvazava, Mariam Jashi, Ana Tchania, Nino Javakhishvili, Tamar Kukhalashvili and Tamar Ratishvili discussed the questions one by one with the students. The students who gave correct answers and explanations to the questions were awarded prizes from DTMU.
