On May 19th, 2019, Gynecology Interest Group of Aieti (GIGA), with Association of Immunology and Vaccinology (AIVA) held a campaign “If you are thirsty for life” - an activity to increase awareness about cervical cancer. The event was held at Lisi Lake where a communication stand was organized and the interested individuals were given water bottles with important messages about the topic written on the label, flyers created by AIVA and GIGA which had information about cervical cancer and its ways of prevention and informative booklets created by the collaboration of ENGAGE and Patients’ Association.
DTMU students informed interested people about HPV, cervical cancer and its prevention methods. Today, cervical cancer is number 3 most common cause of death among cancers in Georgia. Very effective methods of prevention include screening and vaccination against HPV.
