On the 6th of November, 2016 David Tvildiani Medical University campus opening ceremony was held in Rustavi. The Prime Minister of Georgia Mr. Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mr. Alexandre Jejelava were attending the opening ceremony.
David Tvildiani Medical University Campus firstly will admit only foreign students, but it plans to admit Georgian students at Rustavi as well. Also the David Tvildiani Nursing College branch may open on the campus territory.
During the opening ceremony, the Prime Minister of Georgia Mr. Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mr. Alexandre Jejelava, David Tvildiani Medical University Graduate, Member of Parliament Mariam Jashi, and President of David Tvildiani Medical University Dr. Dimitri Tvildiani gave speeches. Afterwards, Graduate of University Mariam Tsikvadze and 5th Year Student Baba Sai Krishna Ambedkhar shared their experience and emotions.
Afterwards, University’s Rector Dr. Levan Tvildiani awarded the best students from each academic year, the David Tvildiani Scholarship.

Traditionally Medi-Club Georgia’s Director Mr. Giorgi Gotsadze named Medi-Club Georgia’s favorite student and awarded the student Alexandre Asatiani their scholarship.
Later, the White Coat Ceremony was held, where the Dean of DTMU gave third year students white coats, symbolizing the beginning of the clinical stage of their education.
Towards the end of the ceremony, the Tbilisi Big Band performed.
