The Chair of the Education, Science and Culture Committee, Mariam Jashi and the Chair of the Health Care and Social Issues Committee, Akaki Zoidze met with the UN IAP members.
As noted, despite Georgia is not included into the global strategy for 2016-2030 and into the list of identified priority countries, cooperation with IAP may serve the basis for recognition of progress of Georgia in healthcare sphere and in terms of attraction of additional resources for health of mothers, children and youth.
MPs introduced the achievements in healthcare system, innovative financing experience of Georgia and approach to the global cooperation.
Another direction of cooperation with IAP is innovative financing and the status of Georgia as the presiding country of the Global Innovative Funding Secretariat granted in 2017-2018.
The IAP introduced the progress of works by the Panel. “At the meeting, we were cognizant with the progress of Georgia. Experience of your country will be enrolled in the global reports. The Secretary General will have the opportunity to in person study the progress Georgia achieved in terms of health of mothers, children and youth”, - the member of the IAP and the Profesor of David Tvildiani Medical University Giorgi Pkhakadze stated.
The UN IAP was established in 2016. It aims at impartial assessment of implementation of UN strategy for 2016-2030 on facilitation to health of women and children.
The Panel issues the recommendations for the low and average income priority countries through technical and financial mobilization.
