Georgian Association of Medical Specialties 7th International Conference in Collaboration with David Tvildiani Medical University
The interdisciplinary conference āManagement of Cognitive Disorders and Pain in the Era of Evidence-Based and Personalized Medicineā organized by Georgian Association of Medical Specialties (GAMS) and co-organized by David Tvildiani Medical University (DTMU) took place in the town of Telavi, Kakheti region of Georgia on November 19, 2022. The event was been accredited by EACCMEĀ® for 5 European CME credits (ECMECĀ®).The conference brought together some of the leading international and local experts in neurology, radiology, primary care and other disciplines. Remarkably, the event was an opportunity to undergo Continuing Medical Education for over 50 specialists coming from Georgian rural areas in the host region. The event was characterized as very productive, interesting and of high standard by the attending experts. Some of the keynote speakers were: Prof. Natan Bornstein, MD, PhD, Vice President of World Stroke Organization (WSO), Director of the Brain Division, Department of Neurology, Israel Shaare-Zedek Medical Center, Jerusalem, Israel who gave a talk titled āPost-Stroke cognitive decline – The magnitude of the problem and potential solutions”, Prof. Jerzy Leszek, Wroclaw Medical University, Department of Psychiatry, Wroclaw, Poland who gave a talk titled āNanotechnology for early detection and treatment of Alzheimerās diseaseā and Prof. Dalius JatuŽis, Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Clinical Medicine, Clinics of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Vilnius University,Department of Neurology, Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos, Vilnius, Lithuania who talked about “Multimodal analgesia for acute pain treatment in current guidelines and clinical practice”. Talks by local specialists were likewise interesting and engaging, being very relevant and educating for the local audience. The event gave an opportunity for networking, planning of further collaborations and further expanding the friendly relationships between GAMS, DTMU and the stakeholders attending and presenting findings of their studies at the conference.
