Meeting regarding Duchenne muscular dystrophy
On May 28, 2024, a discussion was held at David Tvildiani Medical University on the management of Duchenne muscular dystrophy,within the Horizon 2020 program.
The discussion was led by Professor Nana Tatishvili, a neurologist, who discussed the current issues related to this disease. The patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, their parents, and members of SIGN (Student Interest Group of Neurology) attended the discussion. The importance during the discussion was raised by Professor Oleg Kvlividze, the founder of GeRad (Georgian Foundation for genetic and Rare Diseases), and Dr. Teona Shatirishvili, a pediatric neurologist, who discussed the necessity of steroid therapy for the management of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
