ORPHEUS 2024

On 18-20 April 2024 the David Tvildiani Medical University hosted the ORPHEUS (The Organization for PhD Education in Biomedicine and Health Sciences in the European System) annual conference on „Innovative Strategies and Concepts for PhD Education in Biomedicine and Health Sciences”, with the support of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia and under the patronage of ORPHEUS. The event coincided with the 20th anniversary of ORPHEUS.

Up to 200 representatives from 28 countries participated in the conference, including the heads of organizations significant worldwide:

President of AMEE: Professor Subha Ramani;

Founders of CoARA coalition and author of EUA Agreement, EUA-CDE: Professor Stephane Berghmans

ANVUR – Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Centers, member of the Steering Board of the global initiative CoARA: Professor Menico Rizzi

President of WFME: Professor Ricardo León-Bórquez

Director of Doctoral Education at Karolinska Institute, past president of ORPHEUS: Professor Bob Harris

Parallel to the above-mentioned conferece the Permmanent Conference of Rectors of Georgia was hosted on 18 April by the David Tvildiani mEdical University on „EUA Research & Innovation Agenda 2027, seizing the moment, driving the change“, as well. Almost all the members of the Conference attended it. Founders of CoARA coalition and author of EUA Agreement, EUA-CDE: Professor Stephane Berghmans presented at the conference.

Both conferences were conducted in a warm, friendly, and highly qualified regimen and they had the best

resonance among the invited guests, attendants, and speakers.
