From 1st to 7th of March of 2019, 2 fourth year students from DTMU, Ana Sinauridze, and Ikshwaki Kaushik attended one of the main IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations) events, 68th general assembly – march meeting in Slovenia as general delegates from GMSA (Georgian Medical Students Association). Their registration fee and travel expenses were completely funded by the university. Every year hundreds of students from different countries, including from Georgia, attend the meeting that lasts 6 days and takes part in various activities. This year our students attended the sessions about professional and research exchanges, where they discussed topics on improving organizations exchange programs, enhancing academic quality, establishing well-functioning and sustainable exchange team and etc. Our students also presented GMSA’s exchange program through a poster. In addition to participating in the sessions about exchanges, they attended the plenaries, during which the most important decisions are made (changes in IFMSA constitution, IFMSA board elections, etc.) As members of GMSA, our students were actively involved in the decision making about voting on important topics. DTMU will continue to support motivated students who are eager to participate in GMSA and IFMSA activities.
